Where it pays off most
- Tapware: solid brass, with replacement cartridges you can actually buy
- Toilet suites and cistern parts: good inlet and outlet valves stop running toilets
- Flexible hoses: quality braided hoses, replaced before they’re tired
- Hot water: a stainless steel tank if you want low maintenance
- Isolation valves: so one problem doesn’t mean shutting off water to the whole building
