Compliance items that may be needed

Plumbing rules have tightened, and some installs need extra parts to meet the current standard. We only fit what your property actually needs, and we’ll tell you before we start.

Tempering valve$185Units not preset to 50°C that feed bathrooms or hand basins
Pressure limiting valve (PLV)$110When mains pressure is too high for the new unit
Duo valve (15mm)$90Isolation and non-return valve on the cold supply
Cold water expansion valve$110In areas with high water pressure
Concrete base$80When the unit needs a new level base
Safe tray and Mildred valve$440Internal installs above a floor or ceiling
New power point (GPO)from $220New gas continuous flow units, installed by our licensed electrician

Why we recommend stainless steel

If you’re open to it, we suggest a stainless steel tank. There’s no glass-lined steel inside to rust over time, and many of our customers, especially families and people with sensitive skin, prefer it for water quality. It costs a little more up front, and we’re happy to talk you through whether it suits your home. Read more about water and sensitive skin.

Your old unit is recycled, not dumped

When we take out your old hot water system, it doesn’t go to landfill. The steel, copper and brass are sent for metal recycling, and we drain and handle the old unit safely on the way out.

What affects the final price

  • Like-for-like or a change. Our prices are for swapping like for like. Changing from a storage tank to continuous flow, or from electric to gas, needs extra work and is quoted on site.
  • Where it’s installed. Laundry, apartment and cupboard installs usually need an on-site quote.
  • Compliance parts. Some homes need a tempering valve, PLV or other parts listed above.
  • Access and parking. We need free parking close to the installation.
  • Site check. Final prices are confirmed on site before any work starts. No surprises on the invoice.
